Thought of the Week

When others feel your negative outlook, they tend to deal with you in a negative manner. Behaviors and choices contribute to your state of being. We have the ability to choose both our behaviors and responses. As Rev. Robert H. Schuller often says, "If it’s going to be, it’s up to me."The power of a positive or a changed attitude has an amazing way of attracting positive responses from life. Whenever we change our inner attitudes and consciousness, life has a most astounding and miraculous way of responding positively and instantaneously in kind. Life brings success, fortune, and joy if you make a positive change. The best approach is to avoid all negative expressions towards others, things, and situations. Negative expressions are reflections of a wanting attitude, habit, or opinion, which has the tendency to suddenly attract negative responses from life. It can even destroy a work. There are dozens of major attitudes that each of us have. Examples of attitudes are whether one is -- considerate, cooperative, expansive, open-minded, mature, persistent, responsive, respectful, caring, nice, sincere, serious, truthful, and dozens of others. To truly understand where our attitudes are lacking, we would need to measure each of them, discover which ones we are lacking in, and make the concerted, determined effort to improve ourselves in those area.

Change Your Thoughts

Thoughts are very major if you want to be successful in life. Success depends solely on your atitude than your ability and how far you go, depends on your attitude.
Most importantly attitude starts as a thought and if you need to change your attitude you start with changing your thoughts. There are fifty to sixty thousand thoughts that go through the mind and about 95% of them are about the past. Your thoughts are powerful enough to control how well you succeeed in life.Thoughts form our attitude. To move forward and have constant positive thoughts-get things from your past that are positive OR better still Focus on the Future(set a goal). Think in the future tense and visualise goals as already accomplished. This takes a lot of effort and determination because we have been programmed to dwell in the past. One more thing, forgiveness is a universal principle that works within and outside church so forgiveness is one other principle of moving forward. God in the beginning designed us for success and success is not just money in the pocket but a way of life.(To be compassionate, caring for others). Take charge of your life but do not dominate it with thoughts of the past.

Let go of Your Crutch

I opened my email box today I found this mail and I felt it was really good so I decided to share. I found out that if I ever want to move on with life or to higher heights,I have to free myself of any external baggage that will stop me from moving to a successful life.

My Child,

When you come to me crippled by my life, I’m always willing to heal you. But first you’ve got to be willing to put down your crutch. Putting down your crutch will take faith, since you have probably been leaning on it for quiet a while. But how I can I teach you to walk if you won’t let go. It will only get in your way if you insist on clinging to it.
What is your crutch? Your education, addiction, looks, friends, job, social standings? It could even be your religion. You’ve got to let go of whatever you’re leaning on, other than me, if you ever want to walk in the spirit. Come to me totally powerless, my child and I’ll have you walking in no time.

Your healer,
God

Be Smart

Your brain is much better than you think, just use it!

Leonardo Da Vinci

It's a very simple system you can use to help you achieve your goals. Da Vinci called it the "Smart System", S M A R T, being and acronym for:

S - Specific: Define exactly what you want.

M - Measurable: figure out how you're going to measure your goals.

A - Accountability: Commit to being personally responsible for achieving your goals. If part of a team, be sure that accountability is clear.

R - Realistic/Relevant: Set goals that are ambitious but achievable. Make certain your goals are relevant to your purpose.

T - Timeline: Set a clear time line for the achievement of your goals.

Complaining

If you don't like the way something is, change it. If you cannot
change it, then shut up and learn how to live with it.

You are either making things better or making things worse.
And when you complain, nag, and bicker about your problems
you are definitely not solving them nor are you making things better.

You want to complain. Fine. You want to nag. That's ok too. But understand that the more time you spend complaining the less time
you have to solve your problems.

"One half of every problem you are facing today was created by your
reaction to that problem." ~Andres Lara

Quote of the Week

Greatness is not where we stand, but in what direction we are moving. We must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it but sail we must, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.

Thought of the Week

If you haven't reached that point in your life that you wanted
to reach by now, perhaps it's because you are not ready.
At least, not yet.

You won't get what you deserve; you'll only get what you are
ready to receive. If you want more, then you must demonstrate
that you can handle more.

The minute that you show total control of what you currently have;
at that point you can say that you are ready...ready for more.

"The butterfly becomes a butterfly only when it's entirely ready.
No sooner. No later" ~Author Unknown

An Epidermic

Few days ago, my friend told me that he caused an epidermic in school, i asked him what he did and this is what he shared with me and i would like to share it with you all out there. "Today, I learnt about something very interesting. Do you know that smiling is infectious; you catch it like the flu. When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too. I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin and beamed at me. When he smiled, I realized the worth of a single smile. Just like mine reached him, it could travel around the world". So i tried it. I saw a sad looking girl today that needed cheering so i sent a small smile her way. She looked at me frowned and then when i thought she wouldn't smile, out came the most beautiful sunshine smile on a human face. I was so happy i went on smiling even at a vendor who also smiled back. I have stared my own epidermic. So, if you feel a smile begin, don’t stifle it. Let’s start a healthy epidemic quick and get the world infected.

Easter story

The Anglo-Saxon priest Venerable Bede in the 8th century derived it from the Anglo-Saxon spring goddess Eostre. The CONTENT of Easter -- at least as true Christians practice it -- is a celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The old pagan celebrations of Easter are for those who don't know Jesus. Easter is about the life, his death, and his glorious resurrection.Don't get hung up on the name "Easter." But focus on the joy we celebrate when we recall Jesus' rising from the dead on that Sunday morning, that "Easter" morning, 20 centuries ago.
Since the Easter day so long ago the bondage of death is broken. Christ is risen! We can face tomorrow with the assurance that Jesus is in fact alive to help us, to guide us, to give us hope for the future. And since He is living, our problems are not insolvable. The broken chrysalis of His graveclothes proclaims that Christ is Victor even over death. Because He lives, nothing is impossible.

Let every man and woman count himself immortal. Let him catch the revelation of Jesus in his resurrection. Let him say not merely, "Christ is risen," but "I shall rise."

Are you God?

One cold evening during the holiday season, a little boy about six or seven was standing out in front of a store window. The little child had no shoes on and his clothes were mere rags. A young woman passing by saw the little boy and could read the longing in his pale blue eyes. She took the child by the hand and led him into the store. There she bought him new shoes and a complete suit of warm clothing.

They came back outside into the street and the woman said to the child, “Now you can go home and have a very happy holiday.”

The little boy looked up at her and asked, “are you God, Ma’am?”

She smiled down at him and replied, “No son, I’m just one of His children.”

The little boy then said, “I knew you had to be some relation.”

Best friends

My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me

Henry Ford

Healthy relationships are characterized by respect, sharing and trust. They are based on the belief that both partners are equal, that the power and control in the relationship are equally shared. Some of the characteristics of a healthy relationship are:
Listening to one another, valuing each other's opinions, and listening in a non-judgmental manner. Respect also involves attempting to understand and affirm the other's emotions. Supporting each other's goals in life, and respecting each other's right to his/her own feelings, opinions, friends, activities and interest; communicating openly and truthfully, admitting mistakes or being wrong; being willing to compromise, accepting change, and seeking mutually satisfying solutions to conflict. Both should feel comfortable and safe in expressing him/herself and in engaging in activities.
The key to living in harmony is putting others ahead of yourself and compassion helps you refocus your mind on someone else so turn your mind from someone else other than yourself for only then will you have the best of relationships.

Success Story-Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs is one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our generation. His success story is legendary.
Put up for adoption at an early age, dropped out of college after 6 months, slept on friends’ floors, returned coke bottles for 5 cent deposits to buy food, then went on to start Apple Computers and Pixar Animation Studios. With Steve Wozniak, They designed computer games for Atari and a telephone "blue box", getting much of their impetus from the Homebrew Computer Club. On this basis the Apple Corporation was founded, the name based on Job's favorite fruit and the logo chosen to play on both the company name and the word byte. Through the early 1980's Jobs controlled the business side of the corporation, successively hiring presidents who would take the organization to a higher level. With the layoffs of 1985 Jobs lost a power struggle with John Sculley, and after a short hiatus reappeared with new funding to create the NeXT corporation. Pixar has created half of the top six domestic grossing animated films of all time: Toy Story (1995), A Bug's Life (1998) and Toy Story 2 (1999). Each film was released under Pixar's partnership with Walt Disney Pictures, and became the highest grossing animated film for the year it was released. Another new relaease of The Apple is a new gadgets is called the iPod. The iPod is a combination digital audio player and portable hard drive from Apple Computers which analysts say has literally become a cultural icon that’s already shaping the future of the digital industry. Its features include a music and/or video player, calendar, address book, to-do list, alarm clock with sleep timer, games, text reader and many more. Created in October 2001 by a 35-member team of designers led by Tony Fadell, who is now the senior Vice President of the iPod division of Apple and Steve Jobs who co-founded the company with Steve Wozniak and is now its CEO, the iPod was born into a market niche that already had major players, albeit not as successful as they could be. So, what to do? Apple decided to develop its own digital player. The result? “The iPod”, a cool device that puts over “1,000 songs in your pocket.” The iPod has ever since its release locked up the top distinction of being Apple’s best-selling segment by far, and seems set to remain that way for a long time to come.

Be Uniquely Different

Since everybody is an individual, nobody can be you. You are unique. No one can tell you how to use your time. It is yours. Your life is your own. You mold it. You make it.
~ Eleanor Roosevelt

There's nothing fun about being the odd person out but being different is also being unique.
To be different is not to be the same.
To be unique is to be one of a kind.

The secret of winning in life lies in seeing life differently – in its different shades and outcomes. Those who are unique are always gaining people's respect and sometimes face jealousy from others; the ones that aren't strong enough to break their own weakness and stand against their fake thoughts. What is in your heart is what makes you most beautiful.Since you are like no other being ever created since the beginning of Time, you are incomparable. Stand out for what you know is right and do not blend in.

Key Factor for Success

Ambition is the key factors for success in life....
Life without ambition is meaningless and incomplete. When you set a goal for your life, it will help you to achieve your ambition. On the road to achieving that ambition you fall; If you fall, get up and keep moving. Life is made up of ups and downs, understand it now and accept it. It is the facticity of life. Keep pushing ahead all the time. Refuse to give up. As long as you keep moving, someday, you’ll reach where you’re going. And Avoid making excuses. See the big picture. Stop being limited. Think big and clearly and free your self. Let your imagination soar high to the blue sky.No matter what happens to you in life, don’t give up on yourself. Never give up on your dreams and aspirations. Some dreams may take a short time to become a reality while others may take a long time, but all the same they will come true someday, if you keep moving on. Taking your life to the next level and achieving massive success in every area of your life is not something which is reserved for a chosen few, but something which can be accomplished by you or anyone.

Today's Experience

Anger is "an emotional state that varies in intensity from mild irritation to intense fury and rage," according to Charles Spielberger, PhD, a psychologist who specializes in the study of anger. Like other emotions, it is accompanied by physiological and biological changes; when you get angry, your heart rate and blood pressure go up, as do the levels of your energy hormones, adrenaline, and noradrenaline. Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. But when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems—problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in the overall quality of your life. The instinctive, natural way to express anger is to respond aggressively. Anger is a natural, adaptive response to threats; it inspires powerful, often aggressive, feelings and behaviors, which allow us to fight and to defend ourselves when we are attacked. A certain amount of anger, therefore, is necessary to our survival. People use a variety of both conscious and unconscious processes to deal with their angry feelings. The three main approaches are expressing, suppressing, and calming.

Well today, my friend and i got so angry with one another that we said somethings that we later regreted. We've kissed and made up but i've learnt that i can try and think positive thoughts when i am angry, then i wouldnt hurt my friends and families.

Something to Think About

Seize every opportunity
When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us so don't wait for extraordinary opportunities. Seize common occasions and make them great. Weak men wait for opportunities; strong men make them. Seize every opportunity and follow it through because that which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do; not that the nature of the thing itself is changed, but that our power to do is increased. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.

David Ok

Quote of the Week

Ambition is so powerful a passion in the human breast that however high we reach, we are never satisfied.

Niccolo Machiavelli
